13 Comforting Shows to Marathon at Home

  • 2 min read

Part of my self care routine while I’m at home all day is working my way through some of the television shows and movies I find most comforting. From Unsolved Mysteries to Law & Order to The Office, all of us need something to turn on and tune out. Especially with procedural shows, it’s really easy to start a new one and just watch through with the comfortable rhythms. Law & Order: SVU is especially relaxing these days because there will always be a conviction of a terrible criminal. Miss Fisher also always solves the case and gets the criminal, and it’s the same with Doc Brown or Midsomer Murders. All of these shows have a cozy mystery style: the setup, the red herring, and the final solve. It’s calming like enveloping yourself in a super soft weighted blanket.

Whatever your binge marathon of choice, it’s important to recognize that it’s good for you right now. There are plenty of new television shows to watch, of course, but when our brains are so occupied by The World At Large, it’s good to relax with something you know very well. It’s also easier to watch something familiar while you’re working from home because it won’t be as distracting! Well, if someone were to do that, because I’ve certainly never done that.

Here are our recommendations for the best easy, binge-able television shows for the quarantine! Best of luck on your personal binge marathon—it’s the best kind.
